Meet Cameron Lee Phan:
Cameron Lee Phan’s gaze is arresting, addictive, gentle. Their creative aesthetic reads ethereal, quietly atmospheric. Their human energy is grounded and approachable. Cameron is sweet as honey, to boot. It’s our pleasure to highlight their work as a photographer and model.
Thank you, Cameron—for your fearless, present being, and for making the time to chat with us this week.
What are your preferred gender pronouns?
Tell us a bit about yourself. Walk us through a day in the life of Cameron.
I am of Vietnamese descent (half from my father).
I'm interested in photography, film, human connection, poetry, and literature.
My days are creatively driven, and usually always a bit different (life of an artist/freelancer). I wake up with my standard morning routine of coffee, feeding my cat, stretching, and catching up on emails. Then a bit of exercise. After my mind is right, I turn on some music and work on concepting and producing photos shoots, or writing. If I'm leaving my home office, I'll be going to work on set, a casting, taking a class, or exploring the city. I'll typically put on some light makeup on a free day, sometimes not. Mid-day coffees are a must for me. In the evening, I enjoy cooking or having a cozy dinner out with close friends.
What inspires your creative process?
My creative practice is inspired by the longevity of people's voices and storytelling. Connecting the dots of life and sharing the impact of the people I know through portraiture, and the thoughts in my mind through writing.
What does scent mean to you?
Scent for me is a bridge and catalyst for the past and the future.
Tell us about your favorite Sigil perfume.
Anima Mundi is my favorite Sigil perfume at the moment. It makes me happy and optimistic. There is an earthy, grounding quality to it, yet innocent, pure and nurturing.
What sound or song does it evoke?
The rustling of leaves in a garden or a forest from a strong wind gusting through.
What are you most excited about for the rest of this year?
Traveling, taking more portraits, learning new languages, meeting new people, writing.
What is your current daily wellbeing practice?
Stretching and meditating! I always want to get better at being in tune with my body and spirit.
